Styler.co.nz is a website dedicated to promoting the future of creative industries in New Zealand. We promote the freshest designer items created by inspired, innovative and talented young minds throughout New Zealand.

Securing an online space on Styler will provide you the opportunity to promote your items/products to a range of potential buyers, both on a national and international platform. You will be able to reach potential customers/clients with a Styler profile that is a customised, content managed e-commerce store.

There are three sections in which you can set up your store:

Styling is a state of mind; it is awareness and insight to the creative, innovative and enterprising talent that resides in New Zealand designers. It is about representing youth culture by becoming immersed in it, by supporting and wearing emerging New Zealand brands.

We ensure that we offer complete information to our clients so that concise and clear judgements are made when making purchases on the site. Our goal is to provide a unique experience whilst promoting youth enterprise and creativity in New Zealand.

What are the benefits for me being on Styler?

  • Styler offers a platform to sell and promote your work that is more cost effective than setting up a store at a physical location. This would normally cost over $15,000 in capital costs to set up a physical location.

  • You have the opportunity to promote your items/products/works to a variety of potential buyers, both national and or international audiences.

  • The Styler quality control process ensures that upon application acceptance, you are on the site instantly and receive a certain degree of credibility that helps to grow your name or brand.

  • Styler is a collaborative community. By being part of Styler you will be part of the community similar to a mall clients come to one place instead of visiting each location individually. Customers looking at other designer’s profiles will be exposed to your brand name, leading to greater exposure.

  • Artists usually pay between 10-50% to have their works displayed in galleries. In contrast, Styler offers an attractive, commission free fee option to sell products.

  • Styler does not take any sales fees for items sold via the site.

  • Styler pricing structure will enable you to retain a margin by minimising overhead costs.

  • If you already have a website, Styler can be used as a secondary marketing channel to promote your brands or stockists.

  • You will be indirectly supporting the growth of creative industries that will in turn increase your sales.

Who will be coming to view me and purchase my items?

Stylish Singles (16-25)

Stylish Singles consist of young adults and students typically aged between 16 and 25, who are unmarried. This group likes to shop for labels more than any other demographic. They are always looking to find products that represent their image have a point of difference but won’t use all their disposable income. This group are becoming great advocates of New Zealand made items and there is evidence from local manufacturers that this trend is increasing. Cars, clothes and accessories are seen as an extension of themselves.

They wear stylish clothing with the right labels to be noticed and express themselves through conspicuous purchases. They are born to shop and are not afraid to use credit to buy the things they want. These people are technologically savvy early adopters. They and are into computers, DVD players and associated technical gadgets. They are heavy Internet users and prefer to do all their banking without having to visit a branch.

Young Guns(25-35)

Young Guns are between 25 and 35 years, and contain the most DINKs. They are career-minded and the majority live in or around large city central business districts. The average annual income of Young Guns is $48,000. They like to look fashionable, live in an environment that represents that lifestyle and purchase fashion labels.

Predominately, a Young Gun will be looking to create a home environment that expresses their personality. They look towards finding unique products, crafts and art to generate this environment. Young Guns love to read lifestyle and fashion magazines. They are also the heaviest Internet users for shopping and entertainment.

Elite Professionals (35 - 55)

“Elite Professionals” and “Comfortable & Secure” are essential targets and users. They are high earners and typically heavy users of print media. Their desire is to be perceived as abreast of current trends and styles but not actively involved in creating these movements. Appearing fashionable is important and both groups have an interest in inoffensive mainstream contemporary art and design.

Elite Professionals are upper class mature families, located in affluent urban areas of major centres, though also increasingly on rural lifestyle blocks. They are typically between 35 and 54 years of age. Elite Professionals are successful, degree-qualified and have the highest median household incomes, at over $78,000 per annum. Most are employed as white-collar professionals and managers, keep up with the cutting edge of fashion and technology and attend cultural activities such as symphony and live theatre.

Elite Professionals’ occupations demand they stay aware of current events and the latest trends, so are avid readers of newspapers, business and lifestyle magazines.

Option (1) Starter Pack:

A starter profile is free of charge.

This will give you access to your own online store

Features:

  • You can build you profile
  • Upload 12 items.
  • Access My Styler: Your content management system

Note: This is a special three month offer.

Option (2) Intermediate:

An intermediate profile is $30 per month or $7.50 per week (a beer or glass of wine)

(A minimum of three months)

There is incentive to buy space for up to year as Styler will discount the annual account to $300 save $60.

This will give you access to your own online store

  • Access My Styler -Content management system
  • Receive a link on the galley page to assist with marketing your store.
  • Add up to 3 links to other web sites on your profile (ie offer a friend a contra advert you put their link on your site and get them to put a link to your styler on their site)

Option (3) Exclusive:

An exclusive profile is $40 per month, $10 per week

There is incentive to buy space for up to year as Styler will discount the annual account to $400
